December has been a good month for Playboy model Crystal Harris in the past two years. For two consecutive years, she has achieved what every model wants most -- her photos in high demand. Hugh Hefner, the 84-year-old
patriarch of the Playboy entertainment empire, gave her an engagement ring Christmas Day. Radar Online confirmed that Hefner asked Crystal Harris to marry him, giving her a ring, then posting to Twitter that she had accepted his proposal. By December 26, the demand for Crystal Harris Playboy photos placed her at the top of Google and Twitter trending lists.
"When I gave Crystal the ring, she burst into tears," Hefner posted Saturday. "This is the happiest Christmas weekend in memory."
Crystal Harris, the 24-year-old that stars on E! Television's Girls Next Door, the reality show set at the Playboy mansion that also sparked the career of Kendra Wilkinson, was Playboy magazine's Miss December 2009. Since the December photo release, coupled with her appearances on Girls Next Door, her pictures have been in constant demand.
The couple began dating two years ago, according to E! Onlineafter she was chosen as one of the replacement girls on Girls Next Door when Kendra Wilkinson, Holly Madison, and Bridget Marquardt left the show. Hefner also dated the Girls Next Door replacements the Shannon twins, 20-year-old Karissa and Kristina, at the beginning of the relationship, but by January 2010 was dating only Crystal Harris.
Hugh Hefner told Marc Malkin at E! Online in April that he might one day ask Harris to marry him. "It's certainly possible," he said. "I certainly care enough for her...I certainly love her enough. We'll see. All I want is for the relationship to be as happy as it is."
